My wife is to blame for introducing me to golf about 20 years ago. Prior to that my main sport was rugby which seemed a much simpler game to grasp. My career as a veterinary surgeon limited time to play and so the up side of being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2017 was that I could quit work to concentrate on my golf. Ironically my handicap is now lower than before I suffered from my handicap!  Parkinson’s gives you a fresh perspective to appreciate the exercise and social interaction that even your worst round of golf offers. I can claim credit for bringing our team captain Andy back to golf after his PD diagnosis which was very rewarding till he started to beat me.

I am very grateful to Charlie and all the team at Sport Parkinson’s for giving us the fantastic opportunity to meet and play with like minded folk at the Belfry
